One of Hollywood’s busiest character actors is coming your way! Daniel Roebuck’s resume is a mile long including CSI: MIAMI, HALLOWEEN 2, THE FUGITIVE, GLEE, WEEDS, HOT IN CLEVELAND, and many more!
Actor Daniel Roebuck, one of Hollywood’s busiest character actors, is coming to Boston to share his exciting and entertaining THE AUDITION IS THE JOB Experience with local actors. He is teaming up with BOSTON CASTING and their renowned MEDIA PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE to share his unique and simple vision that demystifies the audition process and puts the actor in control.
Although many teach HOW TO AUDITION classes, few can bring the depth of experience that Roebuck has amassed over his successful career in Hollywood – a career that has spanned nearly three decades. He has starred in blockbusters (THE FUGITIVE), comedies (MONEY TALKS), family films (AGENT CODY BANKS) and horror movies (HALLOWEEN 2). Daniel has also starred in many television shows including MATLOCK, NASH BRIDGES, A MINUTE WITH STAN HOOPER and of course LOST, where Roebuck exploded his way into television history by being the first person ever to blow up on TV. As a guest star Daniel has appeared on countless successful shows. His more recent credits include GLEE, CASTLE, WEEDS, GRIMM, THE MENTALIST, and HOT IN CLEVELAND. He has played Jay Leno (THE LATE SHIFT) Garry Marshall (MORK AND MINDY: THE UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY) and thousands of other famous and not so famous people.
Beyond those accomplishments Daniel Roebuck has mentored hundreds of actors in an effort to steer them away from the misinformation that is so rampant in show business. Actors are inundated with falsehoods about the simple dynamics of what is expected of them, especially through the audition process. It was a long time ago the Roebuck realized that, as actors, we must keep our eye on the moment in front of us and NOT the prize. Performers spend so much time concentrating on the “maybe” and the “what if” and too little time on the JOB they actually do have, AUDITIONING!
Remember, there are NO “secret techniques”. Daniel will simply and enthusiastically help you channel the gifts you already possess.
Auditioning at the top of your game requires;
Quick memorization
Improvisational ability
Knowing how to alter yourself to better fit the character
A clear understanding of what buyers are looking for.
A self-confident understanding that you define the audition, not the other way around.
Daniel will explore these dynamics in a sometimes humorous, sometimes serious but always positive manner.
